A Gentle South Austin Dentist For The Whole Family
Dr. Ben Corpron first found his passion for dentistry while working as a dental assistant for a nonprofit public health office in Raleigh, NC. He found joy in helping people overcome their fears of dental work through kindness, gentle treatment plans, and comprehensive care. After graduating with honors from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Corpron pursued an intensive residency program through Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, where he worked to offer all patients the highest level of comprehensive care regardless of their circumstances. This commitment to medicine continued as a practitioner in the high-end and high-demand environment of a Wall Street dental office.
In the Winter of 2018 Dr. Corpron and his wife Sarah committed to moving back to Sarah’s home state of TX, with their 2 year old, in pursuit of a more family centered life. They worked together to open the kind of family centered, gentle dental practice to which they would take their own family. An office that prioritizes patient care and comfort, works with insurances to fulfill patients’ needs, and provides comprehensive treatment options for every member of the family. Blue Sky Family Dentistry is that office!
In his down time Dr. Corpron loves to write, garden, and spend time hiking Austin trails with his family. He credits his spirit for adventure, passion for learning, and love of helping other to his grandfather Dr. Douglas Corpron, a former missionary doctor and lifelong learner. Dr. Corpron’s greatest joy’s are his wife and daughter, you can probably find them most weekends walking around Lady Bird Lake or visiting the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Sarah Corpron, co-owner and Operations Director, is the office’s “Jack of All Trades”. Sarah’s professional transition to dentistry is a new adventure. Prior to opening Blue Sky Family Dentistry with her husband Dr. Ben Corpron, she worked for 11+ years as an administrator in the arts and culture sector. Sarah’s professional experiences have taken her from Raleigh, NC to Brooklyn, NY and have included managing creative festivals, overseeing financial and fundraising programming for artists, and leading program departments within organizations of varying sizes. She is passionate about working to build inclusive and healthy support programs for creatives, especially for those working for the betterment of their own communities. This love of supporting others and staying connected to local community continues to be a driving force for Sarah in her current role as the office’s Operations Director. Sarah loves working with the amazing Blue Sky office team and if you give her a chance, she will happily talk to you about the surprising similarities between her past arts administration career and her new role in the dental sector.
Sarah’s personal passions are visiting community arts organizations and events, spending time outdoors, painting, and cooking. Above all else, she loves sharing these passions with her husband and young daughter. You can usually find her hiking around Austin with her family or at home testing out a new recipe with her daughter, a sous chef in training.
