Dr. Rightmer completed her dental training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and an additional year of General Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Growing up in Taiwan and moving to the US at the age of 15, she is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English. She has always been fascinated by American culture and was particularly immersed in it while obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering at Rice University. She is a proud member of the marching owl band and actively performed at football games with her-now-husband she met at Rice.
Dr. Rightmer started her private practice career with a local general dentist with 45 years of experience. She learned the ins and outs of dentistry with an experienced team and an amazing mentor for several years. She started at Blue Sky family dentistry in July of 2021 and she carries on what she learned and particularly focuses on helping patients out of pain through endodontic therapy and surgical extractions/ implants.
Dr. Rightmer has always been an active participant in local and national study clubs (Capital Area Dental Society, Seattle Study Club, Misch Implant Institute, Invisalign, American General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association). She received her Fellowship of the American General Dentistry (FAGD) award through the American academy of dentistry in the summer of 2022.
It is Dr. Rightmer’s mission to learn about each patient’s unique story and various readiness for dental treatments before providing them the best possible dental care designed around their life circumstances. She is a volunteer at Texas Mission of Mercy and on international mission trips. In her leisure time, Dr. Rightmer enjoys kayaking on Lady Bird Lake, listening to live music, woodworking, and spending time with her husband and her dog.
